Wuhan University (WHU) is a comprehensive university that is entitled to priority development by the government of China. WHU is committed to achieving excellence in research and ensuring that research outcomes create tangible, long-term contributions to society. The university has established long-term partnerships and links with 233 world-renowned universities and research institutions from 32 countries and regions. These include collaborations between the following organizations: China’s Ministry of Science and Technology and Thailand’s Sirindhorn International Research Center for Geoinformatics; the Joint Research Center for Geospatial Information Science and the Netherlands’ Delft University of Technology; the Nano-optical Joint Laboratory and Rice University; WHU’s Institute for Advanced Studies and the Berkeley Global Science Institute at the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley); the Joint Innovation Center and UC Berkeley; and the WHU–Aberdeen Joint Research Institute (WHU and the University of Aberdeen). Its close and long-standing affiliations with French universities and institutes has earned it the designation of “Model of Sino-French Cooperation”. Since its establishment, the university has cultivated more than 300,000 professionals in various occupations, among whom 100 are members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). Of its current faculty team, 11 academicians are in CAS, 7 are in the CAE, 62 are Changjiang Scholars, 56 are Distinguished Young Scholars of the National Natural Science Foundation, and 15 are nationally recognized as “best teachers”. Prof. Heng Hu

Prof. Heng Hu is a Luojia Chair Professor of Wuhan University (China). He received his Ph.D. of solid mechanics in 2006 from University of Lorraine (France). He has been a postdoctoral fellow (2006-2007) in the Solid Mechanics Laboratory of the Ecole Polytechnique (France). His main research interests are in the fields of multiscale modeling and data-driven analysis of composite materials and structures. He is author and co-author of 50 papers in international peer-reviewed journals (H-Factor: 18). Since 2016, Prof. Hu serves as the Associate Editor of the journal of Composite Structures

Dr. Qian Shao

Dr. Qian Shao is an assistant Professor of Wuhan University (China) since 2016. She obtained her Ph.D. of fluid mechanics in 2015 from University of Strasbourg (France). Then she continued a one-year post-doctoral research at University of La Reunion (France). The main research activities of Qian Shao are focused on the numerical modelling of multi-physical phenomena, heat and mass transfer in porous media, sensitivity and uncertainty analyses. She has published 14 papers in international peer-reviewed journals

Dr. Qun Huang

Dr. Qun Huang is a postdoctor of Wuhan University (China) since 2017. He earned two Ph.D. degrees in Solid Mechanics from Wuhan University (China) in 2017 and University of Lorraine (France) in 2018. He is interested in the multi-scale modeling and simulation of thin-walled composite structures. He has published 12 papers in international peer-reviewed journals such as CMAME, IJSS and COST.
